A Sunday worth remembering

Bros and Sis

Last Sunday 31Aug2008 was a big day.

A morning mass at the convent in Magalang with Bros Willy and Bert (thanks Bro. Bert for inviting us), Sis. Belle and Siswife Agnes, my son Carlos. (Read Agnes' notes). It was one of the shortest (i felt bitin pa) one and a half mass. You should hear the chant of the choir, heaven on earth indeed.

In the evening was filled with music, dancing and laughter (thanks Nikki for the stunts, we miss you a lot). Of course, it was the debut (60th in fact), the birthday of ate Monet. Of course the music is of the 40s, 50s,  70s and 80s, I didn't see much of Bro. Mar's antics on the dancefloor. I must admit, ate Monet, your classmate in white blouse and blue jeans burned the dancing floor.

Till next event. See you and God bless.

Last Sunday, bro. Willy and Sis Belle, Mon, Carlos and myself were invited by our new member Bro. Bart to a Sunday mass in a monastery in Magalang. It was a new experience, hearing mass in Latin, with the chanting of the choir and the silence during the ceremony.

Carlos' was surprised to see a real monk for the first time, in their hooded uniform. Things he sees only when playing his computer games or watching DVD movies.

Despite the longer time, about 1.5 hours, we never got bored and even feels hungry for the words of the Lord. The homily is very simple and down to basics. We even received the communion the traditional way, kneeling around the altar, being served one after another.

I was a very different experience and I recommend to all of us in the BCBP Angeles outreach to try to hear mass in this place.

Regards and God bless,

Sis Agnes
